Enter the Infrastructure Profile

Next you will need to enter a starting Infrastructure Resource profile:

Quick definition of required Input variables:

  • Servers - Enter the total number of physical hosts in this Infrastructure

  • Sockets/svr - Enter the total number of physical CPUs in the host

  • Cores/socket - Enter the number of physical cores per CPU in the host

  • CPU - Enter the speed of the CPU in GigaHertz

  • Mem /svr - Enter the total amount of installed Memory (GB) in the host

  • Storage - Enter the total amount of USABLE shared storage in (TB)

  • DISK IO - Enter your total Storage Bandwidth throughput size in GB/s

Disk IO more information: Multiply the speed of the of your active storage adaptors by the number of available storage channels. This metric represents the total rate of bandwidth throughput available for data to be transferred to/from hosts and the storage systems

Common Metrics Include: Fibre Channel - 4 to 8 GBps SCSI Ethernet - 1 to 10 GBps

  • LAN IO - Enter your total Network throughput size in Gbps

Lan IO more information: Multiply the speed of your active network switches by the number of available network channels. This metric represents the total bandwidth available for network communication to be transferred to/from hosts and attached network devices. Common Metrics Include: Network Switches - 10, 100, 1000 GBps Bandwidth describes the maximum data transfer rate of a network. It measures how much data can be sent over a specific connection in a given amount of time.

  • WAN IO - Enter your total Internet throughput size in Mbps (Only used if metering Firewalls)
